A Royal Wedding: Kate Middleton x Prince William

There are more than enough opinionated people out there voicing their reasons why we shouldn't give a crap that a stunning Royal Wedding happened today. Frankly, I don't give a crap about that opinion. Today, something extraordinary and phenomenal happened: two people, so incredibly in love, shared their love, their wedding, and a very intimate moment with billions of people. And it was beautiful.

On Friday, April 29th, 2011 at around 6am I awoke to the sounds of hymns coming from my television. I decided to sleep with it on ABC, which was playing Sky News (a UK outlet) in the early hours of the morning. I quickly switched to BBC America just in time to watch the ceremony begin and Prince William and Kate Middleton exchange vows.

The thing is, it's not about this just being a royal wedding. It's about the excitement behind it all. It's about that look every groom gets when he sees his future wife walk down that aisle towards him. It's about Prince Harry whispering to his brother, "she looks beautiful" as Kate walks down the aisle with her father. It's about tradition and saying those vows that every couple says before their pastor, their loved ones, and God.

It's about McQueen by Sarah Burton.

But mostly, it's about love. And you really can't fight love, can you?

  1. I'm in the UK so I didn't have to get up early to see the wedding.

I got very little done that day! :)
